(Was Rancocas Creek National Water Trail Designation)
At this time the application to designate Rancocas Creek a National Water Trail remains stalled since November 2022. You can read the NJDEP statement about the project here.
Regardless of any NWT designation, the Creek is poorly served by existing promotional material and signage. There is no consistency among the various towns as to how they promote it or refer to it. In addition, the Creek is barely mentioned on the County website. We will work with the other municipalities that border the Creek, and the County Commissioners to address this issue. A meeting between local stakeholders is planned in early June to get the ball rolling.
