Hainesport supports the application to designate Rancocas Creek a National Water Trail. Benefits would include access to technical assistance, recognition and special events highlighting the Creek, trail markers and signs with the NWT logo, and promotion of fundraising and trail protection efforts.
Unfortunately, the application was stalled in November 2022. You can read the NJDEP statement about the project here. It seems likely that some of the “significant additional work” includes the Hainesport Boat Ramp.
We will work with the other municipalities that border the Creek, the County Commissioners and the NJ State Park Service to get this application back on track.
